Die Gemeinschaft soll der Überlieferung nach in der Safawidenzeit angesiedelt worden sein und bildet eine der östlichsten dokumentierten Romani-Sprachgemeinschaften; der Dialekt bewahrt einen lexikalischen Romani-Kern, zeigt jedoch in Phonologie, Wortschatz und Grammatik starken Kontakteinfluss aus dem Persischen und Aserbaidschan-Türkischen. Die Sprecherzahlen sind klein und die intergenerationelle Weitergabe hat stark nachgelassen.
