De gemeenschap zou volgens overlevering in de Safawiedische periode zijn gevestigd en vormt een van de oostelijkste gedocumenteerde Romanisprekende populaties; het dialect behoudt een lexicale Romani-kern, maar vertoont sterke contactinvloed van het Perzisch en het Azerbeidzjaans-Turks in fonologie, woordenschat en grammatica.
